Sameer Al Ansari, PhD, FCA
Founder
Mr. Al Ansari was until recently the Chief Executive Officer of SHUAA Capital psc. He helped establish Dubai Holding in 2004 and founded Dubai International Capital and headed the firm as its Executive Chairman and CEO, creating a globally recognized investment company with AUMs of $12Billion. He previously served as Group CFO for The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Prior to joining the Executive Office, Mr. Al Ansari was Chief Financial Officer at Dubai Aluminum Company (DUBAL) for eight years. He was responsible for finance as well as all raw material contracts covering Alumina, Coke, Pitch, Magnesium, Silicon etc.
He sits on a number of boards including Dubai International Financial Centre, Banawi Industrial Group in KSA, TVM Capital (GCC Healthcare Fund) and Aquasciences in USA.
Mr. Al Ansari is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a member of the Institute’s advirory board for MENA. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Loughborough University for outstanding achievement and leadership in finance.
Mr. Al Ansari is also the recipient of the Special Merit Award for MENA Private Equity World by Terrapinn for two consecutive years, 2007 and 2008. He is a frequently requested industry speaker at regional and international conferences, and has been featured as a highly respected financial leader in the international media.
